Cormac McCarthy, author of the fictional novel The Road, writes about a father’s ambition to reach the eastern shore coast for the survival and safety of his son, yet not knowing what will be expected to them. McCarthy sets a paternal tone by how the father portrays his compassion and protection towards his son no matter where they are and the situations they come across. As the author states, “The one thing I can tell you is that you won’t survive for yourself.”(page49) Within this statement it best explains how the father came forth towards a reason of moving forward. If the father was to be alone without his son the father would not have endured all the isolation, misery, and depression. So by having his son by his side, it gives the father ambition to move forward for his sons’ safety. As the father states with in the novel, “my job is to take care of you. I was appointed to do that by god.”(pg65) The father is talking to his son with in the quote, the reason the father says this statement to his son is so that the son can better comprehend the reason of why the father cares so much about him and is willing to risk his life for him. The author also states, “Are we still good guys? He said.”(pg66) The son asks the question towards his father, because the son is startled by the actions his father has committed towards a man that was threatening to kill him. Which makes the father explain to his child that there is no reason that they have become bad guys for the actions shown.

I would give this blog a 5. I like how your analysis connected to your examples. You weren't just trying to rush it and it all made sense. However, I think you could work on elaborating a little more when you comment on your analysis.

Comment: One thing that can throw readers off is the sentence structure in this one paragraph; however there are well structured evidence and analysis within this paragraph. I would recommend writing more and to work on the intro and conclusion paragraph as they look like summaries.
